How did you get into bridal blogging? I actually started the blog to promote my floral business and it totally turned into a “wedding blog.”
What do you love most about weddings? Of course the flowers are my favorite detail. I love seeing how all the details come together to reflect the couple. However, I truly feel that hiring a great photographer is key! You want to have all the moments captured beautifully.
What’s the most underrated aspect of any ceremony? Lighting is a detail that is frequently left of the “must have” list at the reception. It is totally an important element, especially for in-door receptions.
Your secret to staying calm under pressure? I’ve learned over the years that stressing out only makes the situation worse. Stay calm and know that there is no perfect wedding or event. Unexpected things will happen and everything will work out.
Most unique wedding you’ve ever featured? The wedding of Katie and Austin. I was the floral designer for their wedding and their wedding was featured in the 2015 Summer issue of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. Katie wore a pale lilac gown! Katie and her mother collected more than 700 vintage china pieces and milk glass vessels that I filled with flowers for the reception tables.
Your number one piece of advice for any blushing bride? Enjoy the journey of the planning. I would suggest hiring awesome vendors who work together on a frequent basis. They will truly be your “dream team” and have your back!
